SUMMARY:ITFPC 2017 / 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INNOVATIONS IN THIN FILM PROCESSING AND CHARACTERIZATION
DESCRIPTION:The eighth international conference on Innovations in Thin Film Processing and Characterization (ITFPC’17) will be held in Nancy (France) on October 23-27\, 2017. This biennial conference is organized by the Société Française du Vide (SFV) and the Institut Jean Lamour (IJL). \nBesides the scientific topics covered by the conference\, this event aims at providing an open forum to discuss on progresses and latest developments in thin film processing (etching\, CVD and PVD) and engineering including nano-layer growth and\nproperties\, surface functionalization\, covering a wide field of applications in energy\, nanotechnology\, mechanics\, optics\, photonics\, chemistry\, biology\, medicine\, etc. The characterization methods will be emphasized with particular focus on the new trends in atomic scale investigation. \nThe ITFPC 17 rises as the high-technology meeting playing\, as in the previous editions\, the catalyst role for efficient exchanges between the academic and industrial fields contributing thus to technological transfers. \nThe conference will include invited plenary talks\, keynote lectures\, selected oral presentations and poster sessions.

SUMMARY:33rd European Conference on Surface Science (33rd ECOSS)
DESCRIPTION:The 33rd European Conference on Surface Science (ECOSS-33) will be organized in Hungary\, Szeged. ECOSS is a traditional annual meeting directed jointly by the Surface Science Division of the International Union for Vacuum Science\, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA) and the Surface and Interface Section of the European Physical Society (EPS). The conference provides an excellent opportunity for scientists from Europe and from all over the world to meet and discuss the latest advances in surface physics/chemistry and the progress of the surface science approach of the related innovation fields of heterogeneous catalysis\, nanoelectronics\, bio-nanoscience and light–matter nanotechnology. Szeged\, crossed by the Tisza River is a university town of a long cultural tradition in the centre of the Carpathian Basin. The beautiful downtown of Szeged and the pleasant weather in August provide an excellent background for this conference.
