19th International Conference on Thin Films

19th International Conference on Thin Films

Abstract submission will open soon! (1st March). Do not miss the chance to present your work and share with colleagues your latest advances in the field!

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the nineteenth International Conference on Thin Films (ICTF-2023), that in this occasion is organized by the Spanish Vacuum Society (ASEVA) in Burgos (Spain) September 26-29th, 2023.

The venue of the conference is in Burgos, a beautiful modern city in northern Spain, located 240 km north of Madrid. In brief, let’s mention that Burgos is the historic capital of the Crown of Castile and has many historic landmarks of particular importance. The city has the privilege to host three of UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Burgos Cathedral, the Archaeological Site of Atapuerca, and the Routes of Santiago de Compostela. Besides, a large number of churches, palaces and other buildings from the medieval age remain.

15th International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technology

15th International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technology

Welcome

Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 15th International Symposium on Fusion Nuclear Technology (ISFNT-15), to be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, from 10-15 September 2023. The Convention Centre is the iconic Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, located near Las Canteras beach, one of the most privileged areas of the city. The event is organized by the Centro de Investigaciones, Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT), in collaboration with other institutions, and supported by the ISFNT-15 International Standing and International Programme Committees.

The ISFNT is one of the main international events for the nuclear fusion field and offers an outstanding opportunity for the fusion community to meet, discuss new ways to address complex problems, and find advanced solutions in nuclear fusion technologies. Moreover, in this special year when our energy system has acquired a great role worldwide due to the energetic crisis, the energy transition is becoming crucial and it is our duty to focus on the main objective of accelerating electricity production through fusion. The symposium focuses on both near-term and long-term fusion devices and reactor technologies, with special attention to science, engineering, experiments, facilities, modelling, analysis, design, and safety.
Please join us to meet and interact with fusion-related researchers, students, decision-makers, and industries in one of the most extraordinary southernmost places in Europe.

I wish you all a successful ISFNT-15 and a pleasant stay in Gran Canaria!

Yours sincerely,

www.isfnt2023.com

David Rapisarda,
Head of the Fusion Technologies Division, CIEMAT
General Chairman of ISFNT-15

36th European Conference on Surface Science ECOSS 36

36th European Conference on Surface Science ECOSS 36

Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 36th European Conference on Surface Science (ECOSS 36) which will be held 28 Aug ‐ 1 Sep 2023 in Lodz, Poland, organized by the University of Lodz.

ECOSS is a well‐established annual meeting directed jointly by the Surface Science Division of the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA) and the Surface and Interface Section of the European Physical Society (EPS).

The conference provides an excellent opportunity for scientists from Europe and from all over the world to meet and discuss the latest advances in the physics and chemistry of surfaces. Furthermore, it is a forum to discuss the progress of surface science in related innovation fields such as heterogeneous catalysis, organic molecular nano‐architectures, two‐dimensional materials and graphene, nanoelectronics, bio nanoscience and functional and energy materials studied both using theoretical and experimental methods. For more information and further updates, please visit the conference website.

We invite you to join us in ECOSS‐36 in Lodz next year and discuss the latest surface science advances!
Pawel Kowalczyk,
Chairperson of ECOSS‐36

Fuerzas y Túnel FyT2023 conference

Fuerzas y Túnel FyT2023 conference

The Fuerzas y Túnel (FyTconference is a biannual symposium whose purpose is to bring together the national and international scientific community to discuss the latest advances in scanning probe microscopy (SPM). The great versatility of SPM makes it a fundamental technique in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, with applications in a wide range of research fields, from materials science to virology. In this conference, we will focus on the use and development of SPMs for the study of materials (from the atomic level up to the nanoscale), the understanding of different phenomena (electronic, optical, magnetic, mechanical) in the most diverse conditions (from ultra-high vacuum to liquid media). All together will allow the development of materials with novel properties that aim to solve different social challenges.

FyT 2023 will be held at Fundación Rei Afonso Henriques in Zamora from 3 to 5 July 2023. Beyond scientific excellence, this event will also mark 20+ years since the first FyT conference in its present format.

A series of talks from reknown speakers will cover hot topics of atomic force microscopy, scanning tunneling microscopy and scanning probe theory.

We invite you to join us in FyT 2023 in Zamora to learn the latest advances of the field of scanning probes and gather with the Spanish SPM community, while enjoying an incomparable natural landscape.
