First edition award to the best doctoral thesis

 

ASEVA announces the call for the first edition of awards to the best doctoral thesis defended during the 2015-2016 or the 2016-2017 academic years. A significant part of the thesis work should be related to the use of techniques or processes using vacuum technology.

The candidates may not be members of ASEVA but in that case, they should be endorsed by a member of ASEVA.

In this first edition, the prize consists of 400€, sponsored by Leybold, an invited talk in the RIVA-X conference and the gratuity of the corresponding conference fees. In addition, the selected candidate will waived of the fee for the ASEVA membership in the first year.

ASEVA awards general information

 

Senior Researcher Award:

The award “Senior Researcher” will be awarded once a year. Nominees should have developed their scientific work in a field involving vacuum technology in the 10 years prior to the announcement of the prize.

Nominees may not belong to the governing board of ASEVA and need not necessarily be members of ASEVA. Candidates may be nominated by any member of ASEVA or also may be submitted for themselves.

You should send the CV and a summary of the scientific merits (use the link below). The award is for a single researcher, and only in exceptional cases could be awarded to a research team. The prize consists of an honorary degree in addition to granting the gratuity in the membership fee for 5 years. The jury will be made by a committee elected by the governing board. No person who has filed or supported a candidate may be a member of the jury.

Young Investigator Award:

The award “Young Researcher” will be awarded once a year. The candidate must have developed their scientific work in a field involving vacuum technology during his thesis and / or postdoctoral stay.

Candidates may not belong to the governing board ASEVA. The candidates may not be member of ASEVA but if not they should be endorsed by a member of ASEVA. They must be under 40 years old and must not have a permanent position.

They must submit both the CV and a brief summary of their scientific merits (use the link below). The prize consists of an honorary degree in addition to granting the gratuity in the membership fee for 5 years. The jury will be made by a committee elected by the governing board. No person who has endorsed a candidate shall be a member of the jury.
